Every Isuzu D-MAX includes a comprehensive suite of safety features that operate automatically and independently to protect you. Isuzu’s Intelligent Driver Assistance System◊ (IDAS) technology which encapsulates passive and active safety systems, is standard across every D-MAX model. Using state-of-the-art sensors and multiple cameras, the D-MAX constantly monitors your surrounding environment.
ANCAP 5-STAR SAFETY RATING
A 5-star ANCAP rating is the pinnacle of safety a vehicle can achieve in Australia. The Isuzu D-MAX achieved a 5-star rating against ANCAP’s stringent 2022 testing criteria, making it one of the safest vehicles on Australian roads.

LANE DRIVING FEATURES
Lane Departure Prevention
Lane Departure Prevention is activated if the vehicle is about to depart from the driver’s lane. The system assists by steering the vehicle in the correct direction to help prevent lane departure. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Lane Departure Warning
Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver when the vehicle starts to drift out of the current lane. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Emergency Lane Keeping
Unique to the D-MAX in the 1 tonne ute market, if there is danger of collision with vehicles approaching from behind in an adjacent lane, the vehicle will help avoid the collision by preventing lane departure. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Lane Keep Assist
The Lane Keep Assist (LKA) system is designed to detect road lane markings and assist steering operation by keeping your vehicle in its lane while Adaptive Cruise Control is engaged. (Available on automatic transmission models only.) This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
PARKING SAFETY FEATURES
Reversing Camera
The D-MAX gives you eyes in the back of your head with a reversing camera. Perfect for tricky parking situations, hitching a trailer or reversing out of a driveway.
Front & Rear Parking Sensor
Provides instantaneous feedback regarding nearby obstacles at low speed on X-TERRAIN (LS-M, LS-U & LS-U+ Ute models have rear park assist sensors only).
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) monitors your surrounding area while reversing into traffic, providing visual and audible warnings should an object approach from the left or right. (RCTA will automatically disable when a towing device is connected to the vehicle via a genuine Tow Bar Wiring Harness).
TRAFFIC SAFETY FEATURES
Adaptive Cruise Control
When activated, the Adaptive Cruise Control automatically adjusts your speed based on the vehicles around you, including Stop & Go functionality. (Available on automatic transmission models only.)
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) monitors your surrounding area while reversing into traffic, providing visual and audible warnings should an object approach from the left or right. Blind Spot Monitor
Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) provides a visual warning in your side mirrors when an obstacle is approaching in your blind spot. (BSM will automatically disable when a towing device is connected to the vehicle via a genuine Tow Bar Wiring Harness).
Traffic Sign Recognition
The D-MAX recognises traffic signs, displaying information such as speed limits in the Multi-Information Display on the dash for easy reference.

PASSIVE SAFETY FEATURES
While the D-MAX does everything it can to avoid driving incidents, there’s a range of built-in passive safety features just in case.
EIGHT AIRBAGS
For ultimate protection, every D-MAX comes with eight airbags including a centre airbag to protect front seat occupants in side-on collisions.
ISOFIX (Crew Cab only)
All D-MAX Crew Cab models are fitted with four ISOFIX mounts to accommodate two ISOFIX compatible child seats.
Impact Absorbing Chassis
The D-MAX’s superior ladder chassis is 20% stronger and wider than its predecessor thanks to larger chassis side rails and an added cross member.
SAFETY CABIN SHELL
Constructed from high-tensile steel, the cabin offers outstanding strength and rigidity, aided by anti-intrusion bars that provide increased protection in the event of side impact.
